1202 GROUNDING INFORMATION CONTINUED Hastings 5H Rated Ground Sets Grounding sets purchased directly from Hastings represent a complete grounding system in which every component has been engineered to perform as a unified assembly. To qualify for a 5H rating, clamps, cables, ferrules, and production assemblies meet ASTM F855 certification criteria critical for grounding sets. Hastings’ controlled manufacturing process ensures consistent quality, traceability, and performance throughout the entire grounding set. When complete sets are ordered from Hastings: • All clamps, ferrules, and associated hardware will be manufactured by Hastings. • All grounding cable will be Hastings-supplied 4/0 cable. • All assembly and final production processes will be completed by Hastings. Together, this ensures ASTM compliant grounding sets. When grounding components are ordered from Hastings and assembly is done somewhere else: • All clamps, cables, ferrules, and associated hardware must meet ASTM certification criteria. • All grounding sets must be tested to ensure they meet ASTM certification criteria. Important Notice Regarding 5H Ratings Hastings recognizes and approves a 5H rating for ground sets when they are completely manufactured and assembled by Hastings. Ground sets containing components sourced from other manufacturers, modified assemblies, or third-party assembly work must be tested to ensure they meet ASTM certification criteria. Why Specify a 5H Rated Ground Set? When personnel safety is on the line, complete system performance matters. Hastings’ 5H Rated Ground Sets provide a fully integrated grounding solution designed, manufactured, and assembled to the highest standards of quality and reliability. Benefits include: • Enhanced worker safety. • Full system integrity and compatibility. • Consistent manufacturing quality. • Proven performance under fault-current conditions. • Traceability of all critical components. • Confidence that the complete assembly meets Hastings’ stringent requirements.
